Royal jelly is a natural bee product that is used to feed young bees and the queen. This natural product is the best gift from nature because of its many health benefits.
The use of royal jelly in the ancient times has been documented, with ancient Egyptians reported to have used it in keeping the body of their Pharaoh young. This was even done to dead bodies in the belief that such bodies stayed clean.
The ancient Egyptians also used royal jelly as cream, applying it in its fresh form to their bodies. This produced brilliant skin with soft texture. It is no wonder that royal jelly is used in the manufacture of modern creams and other skin care products. Some of the products, which contain royal jelly, include facial creams, hand creams, eye treatments, body lotions and body milk.
With its known anti-bacterial properties, topical application of royal jelly eradicates skin diseases caused by bacteria. Such skin diseases include acne, blemishes and ruptures, amongst other skin problems.
Several studies have been undertaken to establish the effectiveness of royal jelly as widely claimed. Such studies have mainly been on rodents and study results have shown positive results:
Anti-fatigue properties. In studies conducted in mice, royal jelly was discovered to reduce fatigue at high proportions. Royal jelly discourages depletion of muscle glycogen. It was also discovered to reduce the building up of serum lactate and ammonia. Glycogen is the main carbohydrate storage compound in animals, in which glucose molecules are linked in branched chains. The study involved feeding a certain number of mice with royal jelly and denying some of them. All the mice were involved in an activity and it was noted that mice that were fed on royal jelly went an extra mile in the activity compared to those that were denied.
Life longevity. Studies conducted in mice showed that royal jelly prolongs life. This study was conducted using mice, in which some mice were fed on royal jelly for several weeks while some were fed on common food that both groups ate. The mice that were fed on royal survived long after the others had died. This proved that royal jelly actually longates life.
Other studies have been conducted using rodents and the results have been positive health wise. Although few studies have been undertaken in human beings, royal jelly effects on rodents are thought to be the same as in human beings. Since only a few studies have been undertaken in human beings, royal jelly dosage has not been established. Regularly using royal jelly however improves one’s life.
Royal jelly, nature’s best gift is commercially available as pure royal jelly, fresh royal jelly, royal jelly capsules and royal jelly honey. These are widely available and are reasonably priced.
